Hi, I'm Tom Thickpenny, I'm 14 and I'm incredibly lucky to be a Works Driver for top Italian Kart Race Team Birel Spa, racing KF3 karts against some of the best junior drivers in the world!

Although Birel are very generous in their financial support, I still need to find a lot of my racing funds myself. Motorsport is fast, furious, fantastic fun but unfortunately comes at a high octane price too! 'Team Tom' (friends, family and businesses) supported my International racing in 2011 and without their help I wouldn't have achieved my drive for Birel.

I am looking to secure the funds needed for me to contest the WSK Final Cup in October. However if you could help me achieve more than this it means I can have vital non-race practice AND if with your support we achieve way over target there are two more European Championship meetings that I am hoping to compete in! I am SO grateful for you taking the time to look at my project and consider supporting me. KF3 is the springboard to a career in Motorsport and my absolute dream is to follow Paul Di Resta, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button into F1 ! The big teams follow the KF classes so anything is possible!

One other Promise I give to everyone who supports my project by joining my wonderful, growing band of 'Team Tom' supporters is that if (when!) I hit the big time I will give an equally big-hearted donation to charity on behalf of all Team Tommers.

Please help me achieve my dream of moving through the motorsport formulas. I really hope one of my promises looks like fun to you - and for those who will be racing me at Scotkart, Clydebank (where I first sat in a kart as my 8th birthday treat).... bring it on :)
